OB/GYN Surgery Volunteer Team — Labasa, Fiji

Join our experienced OB/GYN surgical team as we return to Labasa Hospital to provide essential care for rural communities in Fiji.

Over five surgical days, volunteers will work alongside local healthcare professionals in the operating theater, caring for pre-screened patients. Sundays and other non-surgical time offer an opportunity to explore the island and experience Fiji’s extraordinary culture and natural beauty.

About Labasa Hospital

Labasa Hospital is a fully operational, electrified inpatient facility with resident physicians and nurses on site. The hospital includes children’s, men’s, women’s, and obstetric wards, as well as a well-equipped operating theater and labor-and-delivery room.

A pharmacist is available on site, often with a full inventory of medications. Loloma Foundation also maintains a dedicated supply of medications and surgical equipment to support the team’s work.

Volunteer Positions Needed

We are currently seeking:

• PACU nurses

• Scrub technicians

Accommodations

Volunteers will stay at the Grand Eastern Hotel.

Program cost: TBD USD per person

The program cost includes:

• Round-trip economy airfare from Los Angeles to Labasa, Fiji, including taxes and surcharges

• Domestic ground transfers

• Required temporary medical and dental licenses

• Seven nights’ accommodation at the Grand Eastern Hotel

• Seven days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, excluding beverages

Not included:

• Diving, snorkeling, and other excursions during time off

• Beverages

• Trip-cancellation insurance

Payment Schedule

An initial, non-refundable deposit of $1,800 USD is due by December 1.

Final payment details will be announced. Final payment is due by March 1.
