Turning Interest Into Action

 Loloma Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the less fortunate in the island nations of the South Pacific. Established in 2000, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Contact us to learn more and get involved.


Our Board of Directors


Janet Du Bois, M.D.

Dr. Du Bois is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She is a Clinical Instructor in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington and Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.  She has worked in Fiji and the Solomon Islands. She has been a Loloma Foundation board member since 2006.

Robert Duell D.D.S ., Dental Coordinator

Dr. Duell is a Board Certified Prosthodontist, retired U.S. Navy dentist, and for the past 24 years, a Lecturer in the Division of Advanced Prosthodontics, Biomaterials and Hospital Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry. He has 10 years of dental mission experience in Molokai, Somalia, Mauritius, and Fiji, and he has been the Dental Coordinator for the Loloma Foundation medical and educational missions in Fiji since 2007.  He has been a Loloma Foundation board member since 2009.

Lance Hendricks, M.D., Founding Board Member and President

Dr. Hendricks is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Director of Postgraduate Anesthesia Training at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California. He is one of the founding board members and President of the Loloma Foundation and has worked in Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga and the Solomon Islands. He is a visiting consultant in anesthesia at the Fiji School of Medicine and he established the Scripps Health-Fiji Alliance, allowing faculty from Scripps and other U.S.-based medical centers to work as adjunct faculty for the Fiji School of Medicine.

Jennifer “J.J.”  Komadina, R.N., Secretary

J.J. joined the Loloma Foundation board in 2009.  She has participated in three Loloma Foundation medical and dental missions in Fiji.  She is currently an RN working an a private practice in Phoenix  and is a member of the Loloma Foundation medical and educational missions project coordinating team.

Linda Kwasny, Founding Board Member and Project Director

Linda Kwasny is a founding board member of Loloma Foundation.  Linda is a businesswoman with extensive experience doing business in the South Pacific and she founded a 5-star resort on Beqa Island, Fiji.  While seeking medical care for the employees at her resort, she initiated what is now known as the Loloma Foundation.  She is the Project Coordinator for the Loloma Foundation medical and educational missions.


Robert Sykes, Founding Board Member, Treasurer and Logistics Coordinator

Robert (Bob) Sykes is an award-winning video producer of documentaries.  He is a founding board member, Treasurer, and Logistics Coordinator for the Loloma Foundation’s medical and educational missions, and he also manages the Foundation’s website and public relations activities.
